As the Global Employer Brand Manager, Shelby and her team develop and execute the employer brand and recruitment marketing strategy to enhance Thomson Reuters reputation in the marketplace globally. She is responsible for many recruitment channels including the career site, corporate social media channels, job boards, email marketing campaigns and new employee onboarding.
When Shelby joined the company in 2014, she was intrigued to learn more about what it was like working at Thomson Reuters in various locations around the world. Her interest in learning more sparked two ideas - the first was the idea of a company hashtag (#workingatTR) which she piloted with 7 employees for 3 months - 2 years later, the hashtag now has over 50,000 posts from employees across various social channels. The second idea was to feature a photo of a different office around the world on social media, which is now a weekly series called #FeaturedFriday, and is the most popular post on Thomson Reuters social media channels every week.
In 2015, Shelby had the opportunity to travel to the London office to meet with the recruitment team. While she was there, she fell in love with the city, so in 2017, her manager encouraged her to work out of the London office for 2 months. During her time there, not only was she able to meet face-to-face with colleagues in London, but she also traveled to Paris, Barcelona, and Lisbon, which allowed her to continue to develop a truly global mindset.
