Head of Regulatory Intelligence
Stacey English is head of Regulatory Intelligence at Thomson Reuters. She is responsible for analyzing the impact of regulatory developments from global regulators and provides analysis, industry insight and benchmarking to compliance, risk and regulatory professionals worldwide.
Stacey has over 20 years' regulatory risk, compliance, audit and regtech experience within the financial services industry as a regulator, practitioner, adviser and non executive director. She joined Thomson Reuters through the acquisition of the regtech start up Complinet.
Stacey is a Chartered Certified accountant with the highest results worldwide; has first class degrees in BSc (Hons) Applied Accounting and BA (Hons) Business Administration; holds the Chartered Insurance Institute’s Certificate in Financial Planning and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments, the Personal Finance Society and the Chartered Insurance Institute. Stacey is also a non executive director on the board of regtech company, Corlytics.
Stacey’s regulatory career began at the Financial Services Authority, undertaking inspections and mis-selling investigations in financial institutions, and drafting new rules and guidance for the financial services industry. She spent two years as an independent internal auditor assessing and reporting to the FSA Board on the regulator’s own conduct and performance. As a practitioner she specialized in developing and embedding risk management within global banks and insurers from Aviva and Barclays through to Lloyd’s of London. She was a member of the working committee to develop the British Standard in Compliance Frameworks.
