Adding a new rule to your workflow
We will start in the
Rule builder
screen. Within the
Rule builder
screen, click
Add
New rule.
The
New rule
screen opens.
Within the
New rule
screen, you have three tabs;
Details
,
Triggers
and
Actions
.
Details tab
Within the details tab, you need to give your rule a name, a description and select its status.
Once you have entered this information, select
Save and continue
. You will move on to the
Triggers
tab.
For this particular exercise, we are creating a rule for our workflow to create a document from a Contract Express template. This means our trigger needs to be an iSheet record. Once you have selected iSheet record as your trigger, several new fields will be displayed. Select the relevant details for your trigger, and select
Save and continue
.
Actions tab
The
Actions
tab will be displayed. Within the
Action
tab, you can now select the action of
Generate document
.
Select
Generate document
as your action.
The template field will now be displayed.
Within the
Template
field, you can select any available
Contract Express
templates (these templates are set up and enabled elsewhere in the system), and that template will be used to generate your document, once the workflow has been triggered. Once you have selected the template, select
Save
.
Your new rule for creating a document from a Contract Express template is now created.
Now, once your workflow is triggered, a new document will be created using the Contract Express template you have chosen. Your document will be saved as per the save settings in Contract Express.
