Import client data from QuickBooks Online

If your clients use QuickBooks Online,
Accounting CS enables you to import those clients' data (transactions, chart of accounts, vendor records, and bank accounts) for processing in Accounting CS
.
note
Intuit doesn't currently offer a way for
Accounting CS to import payroll information or account segments (classes) from QuickBooks Online
. Intuit may introduce this capability in a future release of QuickBooks Online.
If your firm runs
Accounting CS
locally, you need to have Microsoft Edge for the QuickBooks Online integration to work properly.
  1. Select
    File
    ,
    Import
    , then select
    QuickBooks Online
    .
  2. Select the client you want to import data.
  3. Select
    Connect to QuickBooks
    , then enter the user ID and password to sign into the client's QuickBooks Online account.
  4. Select the checkboxes for the types of data to import.
  5. Specify the date range to import the client's data.
  6. Select
    Retrieve data
    to retrieve client data from QuickBooks Online.
  7. In the QuickBooks Online - Manage Data window,
    select the transactions to import, then
    map the client's data from QuickBooks Online in each applicable tab. After you have mapped all items, select
    OK
    . If there is data ready for import, the application initiates the import process.
    note
    Every QuickBooks item must be mapped to a
    Accounting CS
    item before the import can proceed. If any items have not been mapped, the application will flag those items and include them in the error count in the Error navigation section.
  8. After the data has been imported, open the
    following screens in Accounting CS, as applicable, to verify that the data imported correctly:
    Actions
    , then
    Enter Transactions
    screen;
    Setup
    , then
    Bank Accounts
    screen;
    Setup
    , then
    Chart of accounts
    ;
    Setup
    , then
    Vendors
    . In addition, you may wish to generate the following reports to help you verify the data: General Ledger, Chart of Accounts - Detailed, and Vendor List - Detailed.
    note
    You can open the QuickBooks Online - Manage Data window at any time to review or change the item mapping for future imports. The application will not change the mapping of any data that has already been imported.
