Verify client and recipient 1099 information

To ensure complete and accurate 1099 information for your clients and recipients before processing the forms, follow these steps.
  1. Select
    Setup
    then
    Clients
    .
  2. In the
    Main
    tab, make sure you've entered each client’s Employer Identification Number (EIN).
  3. In the
    Payroll Taxes
    tab, confirm that you've entered all state withholding IDs.
  4. In the
    1099 Forms
    tab, review the filing method and settings for each 1099 form type. If needed, enter a custom threshold amount to override the default printing threshold for each 1099 form type for your client.
  5. Within the same tab, mark the checkbox to send Independent Contractor 1099s at print time to Employee Self Service or WorkforceHub.
  6. Set up your 1096 signature information here. You can also choose to suppress or remove the date from the 1096 form’s signature area.
  7. Go to
    File
    Print Reports
    , expand the
    Payroll
    folder, and run the
    Employee Earnings
    report. For
    Regions to Include
    , select
    Missing/Invalid W-2 Information
    . In the
    Employee
    tab of the
    Filtering and Sorting
    section, select
    Type > is > Independent Contractor
    . Review and correct any incomplete or inaccurate information.
  8. Run the
    Vendor List – Condensed
    report. In the
    Vendor
    tab of the
    Filtering and Sorting
    section, select
    Type > is > 1099 Recipient
    . Check the information and make corrections as necessary.
  9. Generate the
    1099 Activity
    report to review all related transactions.
  10. Select
    Actions
    , then
    Verify SSN/TIN
    to confirm employee Social Security numbers and vendor taxpayer identification numbers.
  11. In the
    Print Options
    window of the
    Actions
    Process Payroll Tax Forms
    screen, verify your 1099 printing preferences.
  12. Place your order for 1099 forms.
