Assign client staff members to security groups

You can use the
Security
tab of the
Client Staff
screen to assign staff members who use Accounting CS Client Access in the client's office to client security groups, enabling access to only those areas of the application that are selected for that group.
note
Before you begin, you'll need to make sure the
Enable firm security
checkbox is marked in
Setup
>
Firm Information
>
Firm
>
Preferences
.
  1. Go to
    Setup
    >
    Firm Information
    >
    Client Staff
    .
  2. Select the
    Security
    tab.
  3. Select a staff ID from the
    Staff list
    .
  4. Mark or clear the checkboxes in
    Member of groups
    to assign or remove the staff member from security groups.
  5. View the assigned privileges in the
    Privileges
    section. Privileges can't be modified here.

  • To modify security group privileges, use
    Setup

    Firm Information
    >
    Client Security Groups
    .
  • To specify client record access, use the
    Setup
    >
    Firm Information
    >
    Client Staff
    >
    Client Access
    tab.
