Highlighting markup in the template

It is often helpful to have the markup in the template stand out from the wording. To do this click the
Highlight
icon in the
Contract Express
ribbon in Microsoft Word.

Highlight Markup window
You can specify the colors to be used for three categories of text that is used for markup. These are:
  • the field definitions; that is the text between the field open and close brackets, excluding the brackets themselves
  • the span brackets
  • the business rules; that is the superscripted text that immediately follows the span open bracket.
These portions of text are chosen because their color in the template has no effect on the generated document. Note that it is the format of the first field bracket that determines the format applied to the field contents in the generated document.
The tab shows the current color settings (either the default blue, red and orange, or the colors you last chose) and to the right of each color is a dropdown arrow that allows you to change the color via the color picker.
