Compare processed Topics

Use
Compare Topics
on the
Processing
tab to understand the differences between 2 sets of Topics.
You can compare any 2 Topics. There's no restriction based on Blueprint or Schematic but they should have comparable data to make the comparison meaningful.
  1. Find a row in the grid that contains a Topic that you want to compare.
  2. Select
    Compare Topic
     from the Actions column.
  3. Find the other Topic you want to compare in the grid, then select
    Compare
    from the Actions column again.
  4. On the Compare Panel, with 2 items selected, select
    Compare
    .
  5. Stage 1: Setup — Define Compare details
  6. You can select
    Swap
    to change the
    Base
    to the
    Compare
    Topic and vice versa.
  7. You need to choose at least 1 column from the
    Index On
    dropdown list for the
    Base
    and
    Compare
Topics. These specify key value pairings as criteria for the comparison. Select
    Add New Column
    to add more.
    Example
The 1st file has information for Invoice ID, Department, and Amount. The 2nd file has similar data with different names such as Invoice number, Dept ID, and Balance. If Invoice ID and Department from the 1st file and Invoice number and Dept ID from the 2nd file would compare the Amount and Balance, then you would add both as
    Index On
    criteria.
  8. You need to choose at least 1 column from the
    Compare on
    dropdown list for the
    Base
    and
    Compare
Topics. These numeric or text items are used to compare based on the
    Index On
    . Select
    Add New Column
    to add more.
  9. If you want to view the differences in a separate column, turn on
    Display Difference in Results
    .
  10. Use
    Additional Columns to Preview (optional)
dropdown list when you want to view other columns from the data but not for comparison.
  11. Select
    Compare
    .
  12. Stage 2: Preview — Preview Compare results
  13. You can filter the view to show only
    Added
    ,
    Modified
    , or
    Removed
    records.
  14. Select
    Download
to save the comparison results as a CSV file.
