Form field color indicators in e-Form RS

Find out what the colors added to form fields mean.
Blue data fields
Blue data fields are basic data-entry fields where you can enter any data. If the data you enter is not of a type expected by
e-Form RS
, the color of the field will change to magenta to signal an override.
Lavender data fields
Lavender data fields are fields that format text with word wrap. When you get to the end of a field that contains word wrap text, the cursor moves to the next word wrap field to allow you to continue to enter text.
Yellow data fields
Yellow data fields are fields in which
e-From RS
calculates data or carries data over from another page of the form, such as:
  • Calculated (number) fields
  • Client data fields that carry information from the Client Profile
  • Preparer data fields that carry information from the Preparer Profile
Green data fields
Green data fields are fields that signal limitations or incorrect assumptions made in the computation. We recommend that you check the results carefully. If you see an incorrect computed value, perform an override of the data.
Magenta data fields
Magenta fields are fields that contain:
  • Data in a calculated field that has been overridden. All calculations that use this field will use the date you've entered instead of the previous calculated values.
  • Data you've entered that's of a type
    e-Form RS
does not expect in this field. For example, if you enter
    None
into a tax credit amount field.
Gray data fields
Gray date fields are fields that emulate a typewriter. To add a typewriter emulation field, right-click outside a field and select
Typewriter
from the menu. Typewriter emulation fields are saved with the form, but are not used in calculations. You can add up to 20 typewriter fields per page.
Orange data fields
Orange data fields are fields that require you enter data before you can print or file the form.
