Error: Document edited in GoFileRoom remains checked out

Scenario

If you edit a document in GoFileRoom and you are interrupted by a system crash, power loss, or loss of internet connection, then the document will be stuck with a checked out status and the edits you made won't yet be saved back to GoFileRoom.

Solution for Word and Excel documents

  1. In the
    Microsoft Word
    or
    Excel
    , select Save to GoFileRoom from the
    GoFileRoom
    ribbon.
  2. Select
    Save to GoFileRoom and keep working
    , then
    OK.
  3. In the event of lost internet connectivity:
    1. Select
      Save Locally
    2. Keep working until your network connection is restored
    3. When the connection is restored, select
      Display Local Files
      from the
      GoFileRoom
      ribbon
    4. Open the document from the list and select
      Save to GoFileRoom

Solution for Adobe PDFs

  1. Select
    Save to GoFileRoom
    .
  2. Select
    Save to GoFileRoom and keep working
    , then
    OK
    .
  3. In the event of lost internet connectivity:
    1. Select
      File
      , then
      Save As
      in Adobe Acrobat to save a local copy of the document
    2. Keep working until your network connection is restored.
    3. When the connection is restored, you can repeat step 2.
  4. If a system failure has occurred, you can make the checked-out document available again.
