Engagement Manager integration with Guided Assurance and SMART Practice Aids

Create a linked engagement to Guided Assurance

  • Create an engagement with Guided Assurance - To use the time-saving integration features between Engagement Manager and Guided Assurance for a new engagement, you must first create a client engagement with your desired folder structure. This will ideally be set up from a Guided Assurance template you have previously created. At the start of the engagement creation process, choose Guided Assurance from the Source dropdown list in the External Integration section.
  • Link an existing engagement to Guided Assurance - You can also link existing engagements to Guided Assurance. Reasons for this might be the fact that you are rolling forward a converted engagement and transferring in a SMART file into Guided Assurance or a previous tax client has become an attest client that needs Guided Assurance.

Create a linked engagement to PPC’s SMART Practice Aids with Risk Assessment and Field Work Modules

  • Create an engagement with SMART Practice Aids with Risk Assessment and Field Work Modules - If your firm is licensed for PPC’s SMART Practice Aids Risk Assessment and Field Work modules, your audit process will benefit from the powerful integration features between SMART and Engagement Manager. You can also link SMART Compilations and Reviews to Engagement Manager. First you will create a client engagement with your desired folder structure. This will ideally be set up from a template you have previously created. At the start of the engagement creation process, choose SMART Practice Aids from the Source dropdown list in the External Integration section.
  • Link an existing engagement with SMART Practice Aids with Risk Assessment and Field Work Modules - You can also link existing engagements to SMART Practice Aids with Risk Assessment and Field Work Modules. Reasons for this might be the fact that you are rolling forward a converted engagement and enabling the integration or a previous tax client now needs an attest engagement.
  • Generate and edit PPC SMART workpapers - As a best practice and to be more efficient, you will do your work in SMART, and then generate the documents as SMART documents into Engagement Manager. You can't change the document reference ID in the Engagement Manager workpaper properties. To change the reference ID or workpaper description name, you must do so from within SMART Practice Aids before the associated documents are generated in Engagement Manager. You can do this in the
