Working offline

Work offline with documents

Follow these steps to check out Engagement Manager documents and work with them offline without an internet connection.
  1. Sign in to Engagement Manager while you have an active internet connection.
  2. Open the document you need to take offline in Edit mode.
  3. Close the file and select
    Save changes locally
    .
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each document you want to take offline.
    Documents saved locally have a status of “Checked Out” in Engagement Manager until you save the document in GoFileRoom, or the document is checked in. To check in a document, right-click it in Engagement Manager, select
    Administration
    , then
    Undo Checkout
    .
  5. When you're ready to work with the documents offline, open Microsoft Word or Excel.
  6. Select the
    GoFileRoom
     tab, then
    Display Local Files
     to display a list of files you have saved locally.
  7. Select a document in the list to open it, and make any changes necessary.
  8. When you close the document, select
    Save changes locally
    .
  9. When the internet is available again, open Microsoft Word or Excel.
  10. Select
    Click here to recalculate
     to update the document.
  11. Close the document and select
    Save to GoFileRoom
     to return the document to the Engagement Manager engagement.

Save a document when your internet connection is lost

Follow these steps to save an Engagement Manager document you're working on if your internet connection is lost or disrupted.
  1. When you close the document, Engagement Manager displays a message that you don't have an internet connection.
  2. Select
    Save locally
    .
  3. When your internet connection is restored, open the document.
  4. Close the document and select
    Save to GoFileRoom
    .
    You may need to open Microsoft Word or Excel, select the
    GoFileRoom
     tab, then select
    Display Local Files
     to access the document again.
