File Exchange setup

File Exchange is a free service that some firms enable for their clients to exchange files with the firm’s NetStaff CS users in a safe environment.
Note that, unlike in ClientFlow, documents that go through File Exchange don’t go through GoFileRoom directly.
However, File Exchange can be useful for exchanging documents like QuickBooks files, which can't be easily saved to GoFileRoom.
With the proper rights, you can enable access to File Exchange for the client in NetClient CS.

File Exchange overview

File Exchange uses a folder structure that should be set up before you set up the client portal.
If you plan to use ClientFlow in addition to File Exchange, you're still required to set up the portal in GoFileRoom.
After the portal is set up, an administrator who has access to the
Administration
,
NetClient CS Users
screen can enable File Exchange for the user in NetFirm CS.

Set up NetStaff email notifications

Similar to ClientFlow, you can set up NetStaff CS email notifications to notify you when clients upload documents to their portals.

Enable permissions

Firms can enable permissions for their staff to view the File Exchange portals as a staff member and also as the client would see it, to help them with questions.
