GoFileRoom

Important update: GoFileRoom Classic Search is officially retired as of June 22, 2026
As part of our ongoing effort to modernize the GoFileRoom experience, the Classic Search screen will be permanently retired with the June 22, 2026 release. Prior to this release, GoFileRoom surfaced two search options: Classic Search and Document Search — comprised of Index Search and Document Explorer.
Starting June 22 your staff will need to use Index Search and Document Explorer. Benefits above and beyond Classic Search include:
  • Ability to select, drag, and customize the column order
  • Ability to freeze columns to ensure only key data appears on the screen as you scroll
  • Document Explorer tab for folder style of search
  • Up to 50 saved searches
If your staff has already adopted Index Search and Document Explorer, you're fully prepared and no action is required. This modernization effort brings real benefits to your firm, including a more consistent look and feel across Thomson Reuters products, a better experience for onboarding new staff, improved accessibility, and a platform built to support new features down the road.
We strongly encourage you to budget a few minutes to watch our training video. It's the fastest way to get your team comfortable and ready to hit the ground running on June 22.
Manage Users & Groups: Performance degradation when browsing Administration pages
We resolved an issue where noticeable performance degradation occurred when browsing the Administration pages — especially when selecting the
Users
or
Groups
tabs. Administrators now experience consistent, responsive load times when navigating these areas. This continues our ongoing improvements to the GoFileRoom administration experience and more responsive interface.

New features

Retain selections across multiple searches when adding FirmFlow deliverables
Adding deliverables to a workflow just got a whole lot faster. FirmFlow users can now search, multi-select, and bulk-add deliverables to a workflow in one streamlined experience.
The deliverables selection experience has been upgraded with a smarter search and multi-select tool. You can now search across your full deliverables list, select multiple items at once — even across pages — and add them to your workflow in a single action.
What's new:
  • Search and filter deliverables faster with an improved lookup
  • Select multiple deliverables at once, across multiple pages
  • Selections are preserved when navigating between pages or changing sort order
  • Duplicate deliverables are automatically prevented from being added
  • An activity record captures who made changes, when, and what was updated
To add deliverables to a workflow, go to the
Deliverables
tab, select
Add
from the
Options
dropdown, and use the updated search and selection tool to find and add what you need.
Engagement Manager + GoFileRoom Add-in experience
We encourage you to install the new GoFileRoom Add-in so your firm can take advantage of an Engagement Manager enhancement that makes multi-document work more efficient by showing workpaper references in document title bars.
Engagement Manager has been enhanced when opening Microsoft Office documents. This feature better displays the workpaper reference and makes the description visible in the title bar of Word and Excel. It will only work with the new GoFileRoom Add-in and is not backwards compatible.

Issues resolved

Document Search | Document Explorer: Spinner with blank search results possible
We resolved an issue where
Document Explorer
would display a loading spinner indefinitely and return no results for affected users. This occurred when multiple selections of the client number index were present in the Document Explorer settings, causing a duplicate column conflict in the underlying query.
Document Explorer
now loads and displays results correctly.
Add-in Control Panel: Index fields now load correctly on profile redirect
We have enhanced the Add-in Control Panel so that index fields load correctly when navigating to a profile from within the panel. Previously, double-clicking a profile created in the Add-in Control Panel would fail to load the associated index fields in the index screen. Index fields now display as expected when opening a profile.
Restricted Drawer: Users lose drawer access after security group changes
An issue was resolved where adding or removing security groups from a user caused that user to unexpectedly lose access to Restricted Drawers. Drawer access is now maintained correctly when security group assignments are updated.
