Troubleshoot grantor letter printing

Grantor letters will only print for beneficiaries of a grantor return, or for beneficiaries marked as part of a Clifford or Crummey trust.

Letter is printing when it shouldn't

If a Grantor letter is printing when you don't expect it to, make sure you have the correct type of return selected in General Information, Basic Return Information.
If the return isn't a grantor, make sure a beneficiary isn't marked as part of a Clifford or Crummey trust:
  1. Go to the
    Beneficiary Info (1041)
    folder and select
    Beneficiary Data
    .
  2. Open the
    Beneficiary Information
folder, then the beneficiary's name the grantor letter is generating for.
  3. Select
    General Beneficiary Information
    .
  4. Go to the
    Bene Info - Miscellaneous
    tab and make sure
Beneficiary is a Crummey trust beneficiary
    or
Beneficiary is a grantor of a Clifford trust
    isn't marked.

K-1 transfer data isn't printing with the letter

The Output to 1040 form does not print for Grantor beneficiaries. This is only available for beneficiaries generating a K-1 (or Tax Information Letter). Data on the Grantor Letter must be entered manually into the 1040 product.
