Reviewing questionnaires

Once the taxpayer submits the completed questionnaire, you can review the questionnaire before importing it into GoSystem Tax RS.
To start reviewing a questionnaire, go to
Returns
from the menu. Find the taxpayer and select
Launch
from the
MyTaxInfo
column. If you don't see that column, select the
Show/Hide
gear icon to see the column, then
Apply
.
This opens the MyTaxInfo Questionnaire for the selected taxpayer, and their name will appear at the top. You'll have the following areas you can use to review the questionnaire.

Dashboard

The Dashboard is the default landing page within MyTaxInfo. There is a summary of information for you to review to make sure each section is complete. Click each tab to view a summary of that specific section.
This is also a
Notification Center
where you can preview any items that require action. The
Notification Center
is also available as you review the Questionnaire.

My Questionnaire

Use this drop-down menu to go to specific areas within the Questionnaire that contain information taxpayer entered. Select an area to begin reviewing.
Select the Notes icon in any area to open the
Notifications Center
. Here you can enter review notes specific to the page you are on and also view an audit trail of changes made to the Questionnaire. Taxpayers can see any notes you enter.
The
Audit Trail
shows the history of changes made in the Questionnaire by the taxpayer and preparer. Any fields that have an audit trail will have an orange dot next to the field. Select the dot to open the Notification Center.
  • Changes made by the taxpayer appear in black text.
  • Changes made by the preparer appear in red.
  • Changes made as a result of the preparer creating the taxpayer Questionnaire appear as From GoSystem Tax RS in blue

Document center

You can upload any document type here. When you upload PDF documents, the application performs optical character recognition (OCR) on the document and puts the results on the appropriate field within the Questionnaire. For best OCR results, please ensure the PDF documents are a minimum 300 DPI black and white, and do not contain background color, handwritten notes, drawings, etc.

Tools

In
Tools
, you have access to 3 summary reports.
Two year comparison:
A summary where you can review the current year MyTaxInfo data the taxpayer entered and compare it to the previous year’s data, side by side. You can also drill down into the source of that data. The source amounts that are available for drill down are underlined.
Tax review reconciliation
: The Tax Review Reconciliation is a summary of the tax return as calculated in GoSystem Tax RS. You can review the current year tax return to the prior year tax return side by side. You'll need to send the MTI data to GoSystem Tax RS and compute the return in GoSystem Tax RS in order to get the Tax Review Reconciliation.
Deleted items:
Deleted Items is an interactive report that shows the items that have been deleted by the taxpayer and items that have been deleted by the preparer. You can approve or reject the items deleted by the taxpayer and undo the items deleted by the preparer. You can approve or reject each taxpayer deleted item individually, or
Approve All/Reject All
items. When you approve a taxpayer-deleted item, the text
Delete Approved
appears next to the description. If you don't approve or reject a taxpayer deletion, the items will not be deleted when you send the Questionnaire to GoSystem Tax RS.
If you  undo a preparer-deleted item, the item will no longer display on the Deleted Items report but it will display in the
Detail
section in the Questionnaire. Select the
description
field for any item on the report to link back to the detail in the Questionnaire.
