View Accrual Data

This topic describes how to find and view the accrual profile for each accrual, and explains how the view of unbilled time differs from the accruals views.

View Accrual Data (and the Accrual Profile)

The primary means for displaying and accessing accrual data across all matters is the Accruals Report. You can also access the same accrual data for a specific matter:
  1. Open the matter then click
    Invoices
    .
  2. Change the view selector at the top of the page to
    Accruals
, select the accrual period in the second view selector (the default is the most recent accrual period), and then click
    Change View
. These two accrual displays show you the basic data about an accrual, such as the accrual period ending balance and the accrual remaining balance. To obtain more detailed information about the source of the data for the accrual, as well as who entered the accrual data, open the accrual profile page for the applicable accrual. You can access the accrual profile page as follows:
  3. Generate the accruals list by using either the Accruals Report or the accruals display within a matter.
  4. Click the

    hyperlink.

How does the view of Unbilled Amounts differ?

When you run the Unbilled Amounts Report and access the profile page, the pop-up window shows a simplified unbilled amounts profile, not the full accrual profile that you can access on the Accruals Report. This view is primarily offered for two reasons:
  • It is a simpler view that is primarily for editing unbilled amounts.
  • It shows you the view that law firm users can see within the matter. Law firm users do not see the accruals view, because accruals data includes invoices that are posted but have not been delivered to AP (which are not relevant to firms).
