Granting All Matter Access

Users who have been give all matter access have a matter role of Matter Administrator, which gives them the ability to work on all matters the firm is handling for you.
By default, all users must be explicitly granted access to a matter before they can see matter details. However, companies can enable their firms to grant certain users access to all matters. These users can include the client relationship attorney, the primary and backup billing contacts, or users that the firm can designate. If the user has one of these roles, then they are automatically given the role of Matter Administrator on every matter that the firm has with the client.
  • If you allow access to all matters, you can disable it for individuals at specific firms.
  • If you disable all matter access, you cannot allow it for individuals at specific firms.
