Company options for setting access levels for external matters

When saving a document, note, status report, or event to an external matter, company users can set the following access levels:
  • ALL MATTER PARTICIPANTS
  • COMPANY AND LEAD FIRM MATTER PARTICIPANTS
  • COMPANY MATTER PARTICIPANTS ONLY
For example, if the lead firm for a matter is managing secondary firms, and the access level on a document is set to "COMPANY AND LEAD FIRM MATTER PARTICIPANTS", the secondary firms cannot see the document.

Lead law firm options for setting access levels

Law firms have slightly different options when setting access levels. A lead law firm on a matter can limit access to just the company and that firm, or give access to the company and all firm participants (lead firm and secondary firm).

Secondary law firm options for setting access levels

When a secondary firm attaches a document to a matter, it is only viewable by the company users unless the lead firm for the matter has access to see other firm's data.
