Azure Active Directory Subsystems

Provisioning Subsystem

The Provisioning Subsystem is an automated process that performs user provisioning (creation) and update and de-provisioning (inactivation) for companies that have enabled the Active Directory Integration feature. The process runs on a scheduled basis and retrieves user information from the Azure Active Directory tenant for each company. It does not update any company’s Azure Active Directory tenant or user information outside of Tracker.
After each scheduled run of the Provisioning Subsystem for a company, it sends a Provisioning Digest email message to the Company Support Contact Email address to inform company users of the actions it has taken in response to changes to users in the company’s Azure Active Directory tenant that have or had permission to the Tracker application.

Health Check Subsystem

The Health Check Subsystem is an automated process that reviews the integrity of Tracker databases for companies that have implemented the Active Directory Integration feature. The process runs nightly, and identifies matter management and administration workflows that have become impaired due to the automated inactivation of Managed Company Users by the Provisioning Subsystem.
When issue(s) are found, the Health Check Subsystem sends a Health Check email to the Company Support Contact Email address to inform company users of matters or workflows that are in an impaired state due to the inactivation of Managed Company Users by the Provisioning Subsystem.
The following issues are identified by the Health Check Subsystem:
  • Matters with an inactive Lead Company Person assigned (Locked Matters)
  • Inactive Tracker Coordinator, Backup Tracker Coordinator, or Office Tracker Coordinator
  • Workflows that have inactive users in essential roles, including:
    • Invoice Approval Route(s)
    • Timekeeper rate sheet(s)
    • AP Route Manager
    • Default SOP Intake and SOP Escalation user(s)
