Deactivated Active Directory Users and Locked Matters

The Active Directory Integration, through the Provisioning Subsystem, can inactivate any Managed Company User, including users that:
  • Are assigned a Lead Company Person role for matters
  • Are participants in a workflow (including Invoice Approval Routes, AP Routes, Timekeeper Rate Sheets or Service of Process (SOP)
  • Are a Tracker Coordinator, Backup Tracker Coordinator, or Office Tracker Coordinator
When a Managed Company User is inactivated, their matters are assigned to another Lead Company Person. Active Directory integration makes sure this happens by locking all matters where the Lead Company Person is inactive. The nightly Health Check subsystem also sends a nightly email to the Company Support Contact Email, informing the company that matters need attention due to de-provisioning activity.
Locked matters have the following behaviors:
  • Matter has an error messaging indicating that it's locked
  • Firms cannot enter budgets or accruals for locked matters until an active Lead Company Person is assigned
To unlock the matter, use any of these methods to assign another active Company User to the Lead Company Person role for the affected matters:
  • Manual matter edit
  • Bulk update
  • Matter upload/update
