Managing users

User List

The User List page shows the list of Tracker users in your company. You can use this page to find specific users, add users, or open their administrative profiles.

Finding Users in the List

To find specific user on the User List page:
  1. Click
    Users
    >
    User list
    from the left navigation.
  2. You can refine the list of users to view by using the dropdowns at the top of the page. The default view shows five dropdowns. The selections you make in one dropdown may change the other dropdowns that are shown.
    • Dropdown 1
      : Lets you show users by organization. For example, you can select a firm name to show all the users in that firm, or All Firm Users to show all users in all firms.
    • Dropdown 2
      : Lets you lets you specify users by matter participation status or login status. For example, you can select Locked out users to show only those users with valid Tracker logons but who are locked out because of inactivity or too many failed login attempts.
    User type
    Description
    Matter Participants
    Shows a list of all users who have access to one or more matters as a matter participant, regardless of whether the matter is open or closed. This list does not include a company user if the company user only has access to matters by virtue of special matter access.
    All Users
    Shows a list of all of the users for the organizational category that you selected in the first drop down menu. For law firms, it shows all users that have been created for that firm, regardless whether the user has access to any matters in your company's database. In other words, the user may not be doing any work for your company, but the user was created in the firm's database because of work being done for another client. Even though a user shows up in this list, it does not mean that the user has access to any matters. This selection does not show users that have been deactivated.
    Inactive Users
    Shows a list of all of the inactive users for the organizational category that you selected in the first drop down menu. For example, if you selected the law firm of Shriber & Handy in the first view selector, and select Inactive Users in the second view selector, Tracker displays all users in the law firm of Shriber & Handy who have been deactivated, and therefore cannot log into your company's database.
    Locked Out Users
    Shows the list of users that have been locked out because of incorrect login attempts.
    • Dropdown 3
      : Lets you show company users with a particular system role.
    • Dropdown 4
      : Lets you show firm users with a particular system role.
    • Dropdown 5
      : Defaults to
      All Participant Tags
      . Lets you view users associated with specific tags, or categories.
  3. Click
    Change view

Add company user
to add a company user. Select
Add firm user
to add a firm user.
