Adding a Custom Matter Field

You can customize your Tracker screen by adding, editing, and deleting values for custom fields. The new matter field you create will appear in the drop-down lists. Fields marked with a red asterisk are required.

Adding a Value to the drop-down

  1. Select
    Settings
    in the left navigation.
  2. Under
    Matters Setup
    , click
    Matter Fields & Help Files
    .
  3. Scroll down to the
    Custom Field Information
    section and click
    Edit values
      for the custom field  that you want to edit. The screen will show the existing values in the drop-down list.
  4. On the top toolbar, click
    New Value.
  5. Enter the name of the value in the
    Value
    box.
  6. On the toolbar, select
    Save & close
    .

Adding Multiple Values to a drop-down

Follow the instructions to add multiple values at one time:
  1. Select
    Settings
    in the left navigation.
  2. Under
    Matters Setup
    , click
    Matter Fields & Help Files
    .
  3. Scroll down to the
    Custom Field Information
    section and click
    Edit values
    for the custom field that you want to edit. The screen will show the existing values in the drop-down list.
  4. On the top toolbar, click
    New Multiple Values.
    The screen will show the existing values in the drop-down list.
  5. In the box, enter a value, then press Enter. Repeat this step until you have entered all the values that you want. The following example is correct:
    Northwest Region
    Northeast Region
    South Region
    West Region
    But the following is not correct:Northwest Region, Northeast Region, South Region, West Region
  6. On the toolbar, select
    Save & close
    .

Edit a Value in the drop-down

To edit an existing value, do the following:
  1. Select
    Settings
    in the left navigation.
  2. Under
    Matters Setup
    , click
    Matter Fields & Help Files
    .
  3. Scroll down to the
    Custom Field Information
    section and click
    Edit values
    for the custom field that you want to edit. The screen will show the existing values in the drop-down list.
  4. Click the value that you want to edit.
  5. Edit the name of the value in the
    Name
    box, and then on the top toolbar, click
    Save & Close
    .

Delete a Value in a drop-down

  1. In the upper right corner of Tracker, click
    Setup
    .
  2. Under
    Matters Setup
    , click
    All Matter Fields & Help Files
    .
  3. In the
    Custom Field Information
    section, click
    Edit values
    for the custom field that you want to edit. The screen will show the existing values in the drop-down list.
  4. Click the value that you want to delete.
  5. Click the
    Active
    check box to clear it, and then on the top toolbar, click
    Save & close
    .
