Managing Practice Groups

Adding a Practice Group to the drop-down

To add a practice group to the drop-down list, do the following:
  1. Select
    Settings
    in the left navigation.
  2. In the
    Company Setup
    section, click
    Practice Groups
    .
  3. Identify the level under which the practice group should be created and click
    Add Subgroup
    . For example, if you want to create a practice group under the top level of All Practice Groups, click
    Add Subgroup
    to the right of
    All Practice Groups
    .
  4. Enter the name of the practice group in the form provided.
  5. On the toolbar, select
    Save & close
    .

Editing an Existing Practice Group in the Drop-down

To edit an existing practice group, do the following:
  1. Select
    Settings
    in the left navigation.
  2. In the
    Company Setup
    section, click
    Practice Groups
    .
  3. The screen will show the existing practice group in the drop-down. Click on the name of the practice group you would like to edit.
  4. Edit the name of the practice group in the form provided
  5. On the toolbar, select
    Save & close
    .

Moving or Reorganizing Practice Groups

  1. Select
    Settings
    in the left navigation.
  2. In the
    Company Setup
    section, click
    Practice Groups
    .
  3. The screen shows the existing practice groups. Press and hold down the mouse button to drag and drop the practice group to its new location.

Deactivating a Practice Group

There is not a significant difference between deleting and deactivating practice groups. Generally, you would deactivate a practice group if you think you want to keep a historical record of practice groups.
  1. Select
    Settings
    in the left navigation.
  2. In the
    Company Setup
    section, click
    Practice Groups.
  3. The screen will show the existing practice groups. Click on the name of the practice group you would like to deactivate.
  4. Uncheck the
    Active
    box.
  5. On the toolbar, select
    Save & close
    .

Viewing Deactivated Practice Groups

  1. Select
    Settings
    in the left navigation.
  2. In the
    Company Setup
    section, click
    Practice Groups
    .
  3. The screen will show the existing practice groups. In the drop down list, choose
    Both active/inactive
    .
  4. Click the
    Change View
    button. The deactivated practice units will be displayed with a strikethrough.

Reactivating a Practice Group

  1. Select
    Settings
    in the left navigation.
  2. In the
    Company Setup
    section, click
    Practice Groups
  3. The screen will show the existing practice groups. In the drop down list, choose
    Both active/inactive
    .
  4. Click the
    Change View
    button. The deactivated practice units will be displayed with a strikethrough.
  5. Click the hyperlinked name of the practice group you would like to reactivate.
  6. On the screen that appears, check the
    Active
    box.

Deleting a Practice Group

There is not a significant difference between deleting and deactivating practice groups. Generally, you would deactivate a practice group if you think you want to keep a historical record of practice groups.
  1. Select
    Settings
    in the left navigation.
  2. In the
    Company Setup
    section, click
    Practice Groups
  3. The screen shows the existing practice groups. Click the hyperlinked name of the practice group you would like to delete.
  4. On the toolbar, click thethree small dots icon, then select
    Delete Practice Group.

Export a list of Practice Groups

  1. Select
    Settings
    in the left navigation.
  2. In the
    Company Setup
    section, click
    Practice Groups
  3. On the toolbar, click the three small dots icon, then select
    Export
    .
