Exporting Reports

You have several options for exporting reports in Legal Tracker.
  • .csv (comma-separated values) files are generic spreadsheet files and can be opened in programs such as Microsoft Excel. You can choose the delimiter to use when exporting the file.
In Tracker .csv files, numbers and dates are not surrounded by quotes, but fields that contain characters have quotes around the data. A blank character field may be represented either by two commas (,,) or two commas and double-quotes(,"",).
  • Excel files are native Microsoft Excel spreadsheet files. You can choose whether to export the file as .xls or .xlsx. The .xlsx format is based on Office Open XML and can only be opened with Excel 2007 or later.
  • .xml is a markup language that defines a set of rules for encoding documents.
  • .pdf is a file format that presents formatting and images in documents consistently across applications and operating systems. Your system administrator can also configure reports exported as .pdf files to include headers and footers.
To export a report:
  1. Run the report.
  2. Select the
    Ellipsis
icon on the toolbar, then select
    Export
    from the menu.
  3. Select a button to specify the export format. Depending on the option you select, additional choices appear. If you select PDF, you can specify whether to use standard or branded headers and footers if this option has been configured for your company.
  4. Select
    Save Export Settings
if you want to save these settings for future use.
  5. Check a checkbox to specify the delivery method. You can select one or multiple delivery methods.
    • If you specify
      Download
, the exported report is sent to the Downloads folder on your computer.
    • If you specify
      Email
, you are prompted to provide at least the email address of the recipient and a subject. You can also send copies of the report or include a message.
    • If you specify
      SFTP
, you must specify the server on your company's network and a report name. The server is set up by a system administrator.
