Review Spending Limits for Task Code Alerts

Companies can set spending limits at the task code set, phase, and task code levels, and Tracker shows running totals of spending in comparison to those limits. If the law firm submits an invoice that goes over the spending limit, a task code alert is triggered.
Required role | Only Tracker Coordinators, company system administrators, matter creators, and matter administrators can change spending limits.
  1. Select
    Matters
    >
    Matter list
    in the left navigation.
  2. Select the hyperlinked name of the matter you want to work with.
  3. Select the
    Budget
    or
    Budget/Fees
    tab.
  4. In the
    Task Code Alerts
    collapsible section, to the right of the name of the relevant law firm, select
    View
    .
  5. On the toolbar menu, select the three small dots icon, then select one of the following options:
    • Approve Alerts Alerts are approved by default when created by the company. Changes can be made to the alerts until they are locked.
    • Reject Alerts You are prompted to explain why you are rejecting the alerts.
    • Edit Current Alerts Change task code alerts, which may have been entered by you or the law firm. If there is an archived version of the alerts, you can click Show prior Task Code Alerts comment to see the explanation for the previous change.
    • Lock Task Code Alerts You can lock the task code alerts even though the law firm has not acknowledged them.
    • Unlock Task Code Alerts You can unlock task code alerts at any time.
    • Select Pre-Configured Alerts
  6. Optional: If you want to view an archived or rejected version of the alerts, in the view selector list that includes a date, click the relevant version, and then click
    Change View.
Archived versions of the alerts are created when you save changes to the task code alerts. The archives enable you to review the progression of the changes to the alerts.
