Migrate FileCabinet CS data to a new location on the Virtual Client Office servers

Complete the following steps only if we tell you to back up your FileCabinet CS data.
  1. Back up FileCabinet CS data
  2. Create an FCSbackups folder on your local hard drive.
    1. Double-click the My Computer icon.
    2. Double-click the
      C:\ drive
      .
    3. Select
      File
      ,
      New
      , then
      Folder
      .
    4. Name the folder
      FCSbackups
      .
  3. In the navigation pane, select
    Applications
    , then the FileCabinet CS icon to open the application.
  4. In FileCabinet CS, select
    File
    , then
    Backup
    .
  5. Double-click a drawer or drawers to move them to the Selected pane, or use
    Select All
    .
  6. In the Backup data group area, select
    Modify Backup Location
    , go to
    C:\FCSbackups
    , and select
    OK
    .
  7. Close FileCabinet CS.
  8. Restore data into FileCabinet CS
  9. After we tell you we’ve made the necessary changes to your Virtual Client Office configuration, open FileCabinet CS and select
    File
    , then
    Restore
    .
  10. In the Restore Data group area, select
    Change Restore Location
    , then go to the
    FCSbackups
    folder on your local C:\ drive.
  11. Double-click 1 or more drawers to move them to the Selected pane, or use
    Select All
    .
  12. Make sure the
    Automatically create folders
    checkbox is marked to recreate the folder structure of each drawer.
  13. Select
    Restore
    .
  14. Set up FileCabinet CS
  15. To restore drawer families, select
    Help
    ,
    Repair
    , then
    Rebuild Drawer Families
    in the Drawers tab.
  16. Select
    Setup
    , then
    System Configuration
    and change settings as needed for your company.
  17. Each FileCabinet CS user should select
    Setup
    , then
    User Preferences
    and make any necessary changes.
You're now ready to work in FileCabinet CS. Treat Virtual Client Office FileCabinet CS like a new installation of FileCabinet CS.
