Troubleshooting conflicts with other import tools

You can use more than one type of import tool in the same locator where DK-1 Import is used if both of the following criteria are met:
  • Special allocations are
    not
enabled for federal and for states using DK-1 in the same locator.
  • The partner information is not duplicated in each of the import tools in the same locator.
When using the Direct K-1 (DK1) Import Tool to import partner information,
do not
also import the same partner information using Partner Bridge, or manually make changes in the Partner Organizer screens within the same locator. This causes trapped data, duplicate K-1s, and creates many e-file and severe diagnostics. Partner information that is rolled over can remain in the Organizer, but do not enter or import additional information if you are using the Direct K-1 Import Tool.
For
federal returns only
, do not mix DIF imports with Direct K-1 (DK1) imports in the same locator. The DIF import will activate the logic and carries, putting amounts in fields that should be blank.
See e-file information regarding what to do to clear diagnostics caused by importing the same partner information into the same locator using the Direct K-1 (DK1) Import Tool and the Partner Bridge.
