What additional features will be available for tax year 2024?
Additional features will be added:
- Support for all group levels, allowing support for additional fields for import/export
- Error checking prior to import
- Ability to allow choices to selectively import/export only specified formsnoteFor more new enhancements, refer to the Enhancements for tax year 2024.
What file format changes are coming for tax year 2024?
There are 2 new data records that will be added for DK1:
- Data group 4 (field number 5) and Data group 5 (field number 6), increasing the field number from 7 to 9
- Field numbers 5-7 in data connection will become field numbers 7-9
Will the form and field names change?
The form and field names will remain the same.
Is the data source code (O for Organizer, T for Tax Forms, and W for Workpapers), the ninth and last data record field required?
The data source code field will be required for DK1. The file will not pass error checking if it is missing.
Will an API be available for the DK1 import/export process?
Yes, an API will be available for the DK1 Import/Export process.
Will Q&A sessions be available to help with the transition of DK1 file format similar to those offered in the past for Data Connection to Tax Return Import/Export?
Yes, Q&A sessions will be offered. A schedule will be made available soon.
