About the Direct K-1 file set

The Direct K-1 file set is an Excel workbook listing all fields enabled for import and export. It includes supplementary information such as navigation paths, storage values, data types, and lengths. Direct K-1 file sets (available in the downloads table on the main product page) are zipped with the following name structure:
  • TYTY
    : Tax year (e.g., 2023)
  • AAAA
    : Tax application type (1065)
  • MM-DD-YYYY
    : Release date
Example: TYTY-AAAA-dk1-MM-DD-YYYY.zip

YES means a data record requires a non-zero value for Copy.

YES means a data record requires a non-zero value for Subgroup.

Data_Grouping4
YES means a data record requires a non-zero value for Data_Grouping4.

Data_Grouping5
YES means a data record requires a non-zero value for Data_Grouping5.

EOrgXREF
The unique identifier for a field (EORG, EOrgXref, Xref, or XrefName).
I
Length
The maximum length allowed (in characters) for the value in a field.
J
Data Type
The type of data the field can contain (e.g., DOLLAR or ALPHANU).
K
Precision
The number of digits allowed to the right of the decimal point for FRACTION data.
L
Required
YES means this field is on the Required_Fields tab.
M
Juris
Indicates if a field is federal (F) or state (S).
N
Description
Long text describing the tax concept of a field.

    Form names associated with master groups.
  • Child_Forms, Master_Group_Children:
    Special treatment required during import for 1040 tax application type.
