Data integration with K-1 analyzer

  1. Go to the exported Excel file created by the K-1 Analyzer.
  2. Open the exported Excel file.
  3. Verify the investment name and return ID.
  4. Enter the activity number for each investment. It must match what is in the tax return, or the import will fail.
  5. Select
    Create Import Files
    to create import files. Verify the information, and select
    OK
    .
  6. Choose a folder path for saving the import files.
  7. Browse to your preferred path and verify it.
  8. Confirm that the selected cell is the last investment row.
  9. The K-1 Analyzer now imports the files. Select
    OK
    .
  10. If there are multiple tabs in the Excel file, verify that the selected cell is the last investment row for the next tab.
  11. The process is now complete. Select
    OK
    .
  12. Import the file(s) using Data Connection.
  13. Importing into the tax application
  14. To access the Import menu option, select
    Returns Processing
    , then
    Import/Export
    , then
    Import
    .
  15. The import page appears. The import type will default to the import type last used.
  16. Select the desired import/export product from the
    Import Type
    dropdown.
  17. Customize the criteria for import files by selecting the tax year and tax application.
  18. After establishing the import file criteria, select
    Select File
    to begin the import file selection process.
  19. Use the dialog navigation tree to select the location on your workstation or network that contains the import files.
  20. When you have selected the files to import, select
    Open
    .
  21. To upload the selected import files from your computer or network to the batch server, select
    Upload Files for Import
    .
  22. When the upload is complete, a green check indicates the file upload is complete.
  23. Select
    Start Import Process
    .
  24. A new import page is returned, showing the status of each import launched.
  25. Select
    Close
    to return to the main import screen.
