Entities screen

The
Entities
screen is a central administration of entities across all ONESOURCE applications.
All primary ONESOURCE applications use an entity framework, critical for their core functionality. Entities play an important role, and each application uses entities in different ways. Centrally manage and utilize entities through the central administration of Entities.
  1. Add an entity
  2. Sign in to ONESOURCE, then select
    Administration
    .
  3. Select
    Company Info
    , then
    Entities
    .
  4. Select
    Add
    .
  5. Enter a
    Code
    ,
    Name
    ,
    Country
    , and
    Version Start Date
    .
    1. Code
      and
      Name
      are user-defined fields. Select
      Country
      from the dropdown.
    2. Version Start Date
      refers to the date as of which the attributes of the Entity are effective.
    3. If a name isn't provided, the application uses the Entity code as the name.
  6. Select
    Next
    .
  7. Select
    Manage Apps
    on the
    Attributes by Application
    tab.
  8. Connect an application to the entity on the
    Manage Applications
    window. There are 3 statuses:
    1. Associated:
      Completed fields for an application, and the Entity enters a ready state can't be un-associated or deleted.
    2. Not Associated:
      Application hasn’t been selected to be connected to an Entity yet.
    3. Association in progress:
      All needed fields aren't complete for that application to be in a ready state and can be un-associated.
  9. Switch the applications that apply to this entity to green (Associated).
  10. Select
    Apply
    . The system checks for the following information:
    1. Entities with the same entity code. If so, you can't use this entity code and the system asks you to change the code.
    2. Entities with the same attributes already created. If it does find an entity with the same criteria, the system asks you to either select an entity from the list or create a new entity.
  11. Select the
    Attributes by Category
    tab to review the attributes applied to this entity.
  12. Select the
    History
    tab to review the information about who has created or edited this entity.
