Applying authority data

Once you select an authority as a candidate for a transaction, the transaction data's examined to determine whether or not the authority's interested in taxing the transaction.
If an authority's interested in taxing a transaction, the tax data's applied as:
  • Basic authority data, including authority type, effective tax and administration levels, and invoice description.
  • Rates and fees which determine how much tax to impose.
  • Rules which evaluate transaction data such as products and licenses to select the correct rate or fee.
Depending on your implementation needs, this custom data can also be evaluated and applied:
  • Contributing authorities let you account for specific tax-on-tax and tax-on-gross-plus-tax scenarios.
  • Calculation options let you override specific tax calculation parameters for this authority.
