Set authority options

Authority options have several pieces of information that drive calculation results. You can use the authority options to:
  • Control voluntary tax situations and tax categorizations.
  • Modify the custom authority behavior by changing the value of 1 of the options associated with the template used to create the authority.
  • Perform VAT overrides for custom interpretation of transaction tax laws, such as application of reverse charge rules, non-established taxable persons (NETP), exceptions and VAT groups.
  1. Go to
    Configuration
    ,
    Authorities
    , and then
    Authority Options
    .
  2. Select the
    Custom
    tab to determine if the item to edit's already a custom authority. If not, return to the
    Standard
    tab.
  3. Select the
    Tax Data Type
    .
  4. Enter a value for
    Country if required
    .
  5. Select the
    Company
    .
  6. You can make changes to the
    Condition
    ,
    Value
    ,
    Start Date
    , and
    End Date
    .
    1. Condition
      indicates the type of transaction regarding jurisdictions, such as Domestic, Foreign, Both, South, and North.
    2. Value
      indicates if the authority's enabled or what element's evaluated by Determination for the purpose of tax determination (registration or establishment).
    3. Start and End Dates
      indicate a specific timeframe to apply an authority.
