Determination Anywhere 2025.02 release notes

Release highlights

Determination Anywhere version 2025.02 makes the DA Hub stateless and introduces a sync change for tax content, where the DA Mothership now initiates the sync.

New features

DA Hub: Stateless (1445552)
The DA Hub acts as an optional intermediary between the DA Mothership and the DA Client (tax engine and related components). It facilitates connectivity for customers whose DA Client can't connect directly with the Mothership. The DA Client connects to the Hub, which customers deploy within their infrastructure. The DA Hub then connects to the Mothership at Thomson Reuters. The Hub serves as a pass-through for all data synchronizations. It syncs user data, configurations, content, and transactions to the Client, and syncs transactions from the Client to TR.
Some customers prefer to prevent transaction syncs from the DA Client back to TR. To accommodate this, they deploy the DA Hub in a stateless manner. This lets them manage the Hub alongside other non-TR applications in their infrastructure and simplify maintenance.
Deploying the DA Hub as stateless eliminates the need for Persistent Volumes (PV) for data persistence. This provides enhanced flexibility and resource efficiency.
Coordinate with your Thomson Reuters Managed Services team member to ensure the deployment process follows steps to maintain the DA Hub in a stateless manner.
Tax content sync from DA Mothership (1520624)
We improve the DA Client installations to enhance the synchronization of content and configurations. The data/config sync-streaming application now runs content sync on a scheduled basis. This is similar to the existing content sync application.
This update removes the need for 2 separate applications. It increases efficiency and security by connecting directly to the DA Mothership instead of the Blue Customer Center (BCC). The BCC is where the latest tax content is initially downloaded, and it is also where the DA Client or DA Hub previously retrieved content. This increases security by connecting to a DA server endpoint rather than an external source. This change enables profile-based content download management.

Fixes

Security vulnerabilities
We've resolved critical vulnerabilities in the DA Client components, as identified by our security tools. This update enhances the security and stability of our system by mitigating potential risks. We resolved these vulnerabilities through updates to the application components used within the DA Client.
