Your search results will appear in a grid with the following columns.
  • Authority
  • Description
  • Code
    • Custom rate and fee codes always begin with a number.
    • Tax data provider rate and fee codes always begin with a letter.
  • Fee
  • Rate
    • The sum of all rates that have the description and rate code.
    • In the case of tiered rates, the percentage shows the sum of the rates.
  • Tier
    • The rate or fee type. Displays

      if tiers exist or blank if none.
    • If

      , the rate percent is the sum of the tiers, each of which may have different rates.
    • If the tier is graduated, the amount of the transaction may determine which tier rate is applied. It may depend on the line item amount, product amount, or invoice amount.
    • To learn what rate was applied, check the Authorities that make up the rate or run a Workbench test scenario to see which rate is applied.

    • Maximum combined sales tax that can be collected.
