Use Model Scenario to test VCTV scenarios

The Model Scenario feature allows you to test various Vendor Charged Tax Verification (VCTV) scenarios and model the impact on business and tax changes. By using the Model Scenario feature, you can replicate a transaction sent from your calling system without actually sending the transaction from your calling system.
The Model Scenario feature includes only a few fields related to the VCTV feature. Most of the information used in a VCTV scenario derives from your configured VCTV settings.
To enter VCTV scenario details:
  1. Select
    Tools
    ,
    Tax Tools
    , and then
    Model Scenario
    .
  2. Either select
    Add Scenario
    or
    Edit
    .
  3. Select
    Document Information
    .
  4. Enter the scenario name.
  5. Enter the effective date.
  6. Enter the document number. This is a substitute for the invoice number, which would be included if the transaction was sent from your calling system.
  7. For
    Company Role
    , select
    Buyer
    .
  8. Select the vendor number and name, if desired. To use this option, the vendor number and name must already be set up.
  9. Enter the document type. This selection should match the document type entered for your VCTV general settings.
  10. If you want to replace the value of the trusted vendor for this scenario, select Trusted Vendor or Not Trusted Vendor. If you want to retain the value for the trusted vendor, select None.
  11. Enter the vendor charged tax amount you want to simulate in this scenario. When you use Model Scenario, you don't have an invoice from the calling system.
  12. Complete the remaining items as you normally would, and then select
    Save
    or
    Save and View Results
