Added English language version of Annual VAT return .pdf forms included under the Main Return schedule for reporting period 2023. The pdf version changes when the return language version is switched to match the return and form language. The first version of the updated annual return template was released in February with the pdf form available in Italian only to give users more time to prepare for the submission.
Content Enhancements
Australia GST return –
Currently OIC auto-populates the value for Tax Included Indicator based on a selector on the Company Information sheet. "GST included in total sales indicator" will no longer be automatically ticked in the GST return if box 1B (GST on purchases) is populated in the return summary. The logic has now been amended to mark the indicator only if GST on sales is declared in box 1A.
If the checkbox is marked, the value also populates the pdf form based on the selection in Company Information sheet.
Croatia U-RA –
the scope of the UR-A ledger has been revised to exclude transactions that do not meet the requirements and should not be included in the listings report. The listing will now consist of domestic purchases only. Additionally, the country code from the VAT registration number will be truncated to include digits only in line with the datatype requirements for this field.
Greece ESL –
a new sheet has been added to enable reporting of transactions in the Call of stock section which was previously not covered in OIC. The sheet requires manual entry on screen. There are three rows present by default an users can add more rows to the sheet as required.
France:
VAT return pdf form –
Added links for boxes 21A,B,C and 15A,B to populate values in the pdf form from the Return Summary. Previously there were no amounts populated for these boxes in the pdf form.
VAT return –
The calculation of the VAT credit amount in box 27 in the VAT return has been revised to not include it this box when box 0005 indicating VAT recovery on group level is ticked. Previously the credit amount was incorrectly included in box 27 instead of only being calculated in box AA reserved for group reporting.
Updated the box number mappings used in Box Number report to include tax codes that were missing in the report.
Ireland –
Updated the box number mappings used in Box Number report to include tax codes that were missing in the report.
Italy –
The formula displaying VAT position in the management information sheet has been revised to capture the amount of VAT due or repayable depending on which box VP14 has value other than 0: box VP14_1 shows the amount of VAT due and box VP14_2 shows the amount of VAT credit.
Poland:
JPK_FA (on demand SAFT) –
• JPK_FA (on demand SAFT) – the logic for generating the report has been amended to address more use cases:
Exclude total values for Orders if there are no import of data made with import type DTR-JPKOrders. The orders are not mandatory and don’t have to be included to prepare the JPK_FA report. Previously the control amount with the count and sum of total values referring to the orders was incorrectly included in the output making the output inconsistent with the schema structure.
The element ZamowienieWiersz related to the orders details will be printed when JPK_Orders is imported only including mandatory fields in Zamowienie (P_2AZ and WartoscZamownienia) without any of the optional fields in ZamowienieWiersz
VAT return –
a new tax code has been added to allow reporting of partially recoverable VAT amounts under reverse charge related to Services purchased from EU suppliers included in boxes 29 and 30. Previously OIC only supported this tax code as fully recoverable and fully irrecoverable.
Portugal Annex 40 and 41:
The logic has been amended to exclude foreign counterparty VAT registrations from the reporting and instead the aggregated values of transactions with suppliers and customers not registered in Portugal will be reported on a single line for each counterparty without the registration numbers.
Additionally, there is a mechanism added to exclude Debit Notes with negative sign from the listing by populating field InvoiceType5 with value ‘Debit Notes’. The field can be included in the import specification which requires an update to the configuration or can be populated in OIC via edit functionality (including bulk edit if the value will apply to multiple transactions).
Romania VAT return pdf form –
fixed incorrect links feeding values in fields Fiscal identification code, Jurisdiction, Phone number and box 3.1 in the pdf form from the Return Summary and Company Information sheet. The incorrect values were limited to the pdf form and are correctly captured in the Return Summary used for filing purposes.
Slovakia:
VAT return pdf form:
Field including Email address has been revised to improve the display of this value in the pdf form. Previously the value was stretched and not fully visible in the form.
Fixed an inconsistency in printing of boxes populated as tick box which were previously not populated when the form was printed to pdf.
Intrastat –
revised logic applied to rounding of values in field Net Mass to allow capturing values less than 1 that should be rounded up to 1, previously they were reported as 0.
Slovenia intrastat –
Amended the efiling schema to ensure that field Country of Origin is populated in the filing output which was missing in case of dispatches.
Spain VAT return pdf form –
amended rounding of amounts included in the pdf form to ensure the same rules are applied in the Return Summary and the pdf representation of the return.
Sweden intrastat –
revised logic applied to rounding of values in field Net Mass to allow capturing values less than 1 that should be rounded up to 1, previously they were reported as 0.
Switzerland VAT return pdf form –
updated the forms in all language versions to include the header information populated from Company Information sheet.
United Arab Emirates –
the calculation of box 10 referring to supplies subject to reverse charge provision has been revised to incorporate amounts included in box 7 reserved for Adjustments to import of goods. This change will ensure that output tax under the reverse charge mechanism which was declared in box 7 of the VAT return can be recovered.
Management information sheet –
the formula calculating the amount of VAT due or repayable has been amended in the group templates to accurately capture the values when there are adjustments made on group level. Previously the amount was the sum of the underlying entities within the group not taking into consideration the adjustments. The change has been applied to the following jurisdictions:
Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Japan, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Mexico, Netherlands, Oman, Portugal, Romania, Saudi, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Venezuela, Vietnam
E-FILING UPDATES:
Estonia intrastat –
intrastat listings can now be extracted as an xml output file which is the required filing format for submission on the tax administration portal. A separate Company information sheet has been added to accommodate the e-filing specific requirements. This additional Company Information sheet includes details about the reporting entity that must be provided with the submission.
Bulgaria –
text in Cyrillic Issue Resolution for BG Ledger/ESL Exports: In this release, we have addressed an issue related to Cyrillic data rendering for BG (Bulgarian) ledger and ESL exports. Previously, users encountered difficulties with Cyrillic characters displaying incorrectly or inconsistently in certain contexts. This issue has now been successfully resolved, ensuring accurate representation of Cyrillic data for both ledger and ESL exports.
SAF-T:
Resolved SAF-T JPK_MAG XML report generation failures:
Failure in generation of SAF-T JPK_MAG report has been resolved in this release. Users can now generate the SAF-T JPK_MAG XML report without encountering any failures, ensuring seamless functionality and accurate reporting.
Support for special characters in SAF-T report generation for customer/supplier names:
With this release, SAF-t reporting will handle special character inputs (which are supported by the XML file format) in customer/supplier names. This improvement ensures that users don’t see a discrepancy between their file inputs and SAF-T report output when special characters are included. However, due to the existing limitation of XML file output, certain characters cannot be supported (list to be confirmed).
The characters below will not be supported in SAF-T reports, due to XML file limitations:

API Updates
Updated Workbook API to retrieve the list of target boxes in other adjustments sheet:
The workbook API has been updated to include the ability to extract the full list of target boxes present in the dropdown on the Other Adjustments sheet. This sheet is currently available in the templates for Australia and France and provides users a method to manage adjustments to the A2 sheet in a structured format – this sheet can be populated using other supported endpoints as part of the Workbook API. Supporting the extraction of possible target boxes within the dropdown allows users to optimizing workflows which utilize the workbook API.
RETURNS:
Updates to auto-sync indicator and "Returns with Sync Issues" report:
The logic has been enriched to include additional validation steps. As a result the discrepancies between periodic and annual returns are caught and flagged more effectively minimizing the risk of data loss or mismatches. Below checks have been added:
Data from the Manual upload sheet (S) is not flowing to the S sheet of annual.
Data from the Adjustment summary sheet (S1) is not flowing to the S sheet of annual.
Concurrent workbook access:
An intermittent issue was observed when multiple users accessed the same return in succession. Users would observe an unexpected error was displayed for the second user inconsistently. This was due to the incorrect handling of the multiple-user access logic. The issue has been addressed by updating the logic to properly handle scenarios of concurrent access, if the setting to allow multiple user access is enabled on database level.
Resolved issues on returns Closure workflow:
An intermittent issue was reported on the closure of the returns i.e, when multiple users accessed a return and one user closed it from the Returns screen popup, it wasn’t disappearing from the Open Returns and this issue prevented promptly providing editing permission to the other users.
By updating the access control logic the returns are properly closed and editing permissions are accurately granted to other users. This enhancement ensures smoother workflow and resolves issues.
IMPORTS
Import Progress Tracking on import details screen:
In-progress imports show the percentage completion within the import details table, and a traffic light color coding system has been added to provide greater visibility on import status. This enhancement allows users to monitor the progress of their imports without any manual intervention. The progress will be dynamically represented using numerical values.
As you begin to utilize the fully rolled-out Import Progress Tracking, please keep us informed about your experience. Your feedback is crucial for us to continue to refine and improve our features.
Hungary failed uploads:
Resolved the issue encountered with imports of data for Hungary caused by missing data in field SupplierVATNumber. The field has been incorrectly treated as mandatory and resulted with imports failing to upload to the returns. After the fix the imports as well as Upload will result with success even if the SupplierVATNumber is missing. A warning will be shown to alert the users to the fact that SupplierVATNumber is a mandatory field for form 2465M which is an integral part of the VAT return.
Grouping of Allocation Errors:
This feature is designed to make the error handling process more efficient and user-friendly, especially when dealing with large datasets. It also significantly improves the management and resolution of allocation errors. Whilst previously the number of allocation errors a user could review from a single import attempt was capped at 500, this grouping logic allows users to see essentially all allocation errors within a file in a single go, albeit with some limitations due to the logical order in which mappings are linked (eg. A review of tax code mappings is dependent on entity code mappings being present).
Key Enhancements:
Categorized Error Grouping:
Allocation errors are now intelligently grouped by categories, allowing users to quickly identify and rectify issues without having to wade through a sea of unsorted error messages.
Detailed Error Descriptions:
Each error is presented in a structured format, providing clear details on the error type, the specific lines affected, and the occurrence frequency of each error.
Sequential Error Handling:
The system now processes multiple allocation errors in a predefined sequence, enhancing overall efficiency:
Entity code mapping is checked first.
Transaction type mapping is confirmed second.
Tax code and exchange rate mappings follow.
When reviewing allocation errors, certain missing data points mean it isn't possible to move to the next layer of checks eg. If entity code mapping is not present, the system is unable to identify the jurisdiction and therefore cannot verify whether the tax codes are mapped in the allocation specification selected for that jurisdiction.
Important Update on Importing Files:
The system now intelligently handles scenarios where a template license for an entity is missing. Instead of failing the import outright, an 'Entity Not Mapped' error will be shown first. This allows users to rectify the issue without losing the import progress. Once the license is added and other issues are resolved, the import and upload will proceed successfully.
note
This feature is activated by enabling the 'Importer: Group related allocation errors' setting in your system preferences.
REPORTS:
Introducing ‘save report parameters’ to batch reports:
This release gives users the ability to save parameters when running batch reports by introducing 'Save Parameters' action button, like that available in individual reports. Users can benefit by saving report parameters and conveniently accessing them from the panel for future use.
Retaining leading zeros in Box Number Reports:
In this release, we've addressed the inconsistency between how leading zeros are preserved in all
Box Number Reports
viewed on-screen and exported to excel. They will now be preserved both in, on screen and exported format of the reports.
Introducing ‘Box Number Report- CN/INV Mappings and Net/Tax Box info - excluding all PEX transactions':
This release we introduce a new standard report called the 'Box Number Report -CN/INV Mappings and Net/Tax Box info - excluding all PEX transactions'. This report is specific to a unique use case to support with offline reconciliation efforts which do not need to consider partially exempt values. The report will consist all columns as the current 'Box Number Report -CN/INV Mappings and Net/Tax Box info' and an additional column Net_Inp_Out specifying the amount type, which will show all transactions except ones under partial exemption using values PEX, PEXANN, PEXTOT, PEXANNTOT, PEXNET and ITM. The existing report capabilities like customization of the report, filtering will be applicable to the new report as well.
Notes Report:
a new report has been introduced to allow extracting notes included in the returns. The report uses standard parameters based on Reporting Date and Entity and will list details on which returns include notes and where the notes are located the workbook (such as sheet name and cell number) as well as display the content of the notes. The report can be accessed both through UI and API.
OTHER UPDATES
Enhanced VAT Number Selection for Transactional VAT number validation Report:
The Transactional VAT Number validation report has been enhanced to allow retrieval of the VAT status by selecting any of the available VAT number in the following fields (VAT number, Supplier VAT number, or Customer VAT number) unlike earlier, where the supplier VAT number was picked to retrieve the VAT status.
Resolved inconsistency in downloaded files names:
In this release, we've identified and resolved the discrepancy observed in the downloaded SAF-T report output file name when it contains any special characters to ensure it is consistent to the file name during it’s creation. A note is also shown to the user when hovering over the ‘File name’ field.
In this release, a feature has been deployed to enhance the monitoring and analysis of HTTP parameters within the network traffic. Enhanced Network Performance Monitoring is now available, capturing key TDS request/response metadata in MongoDB for improved analysis. This update includes HTTP methods, caller details, endpoint, request size, response time, and domain ID tracking. It's designed for proactive performance checks, swift troubleshooting, and user experience enhancements. This tool serves as a diagnostic utility, providing in-depth insights for network performance and user interaction.
EMEA & APAC separate deployment support:
In our continuous effort to improve and adapt, the deployment strategy is transitioned from a centralized deployment process to a region-specific strategy. This means that updates for the EMEA and APAC regions will be deployed separately, rather than simultaneously. This new approach ensures that updates are delivered outside of business hours depending on the time zone. It also minimizes potential conflicts and delays, making sure users always have the latest and most stable version of our services.
KNOWN ISSUES
Having introduced ‘Save parameters’ functionality to batch reports in this release, we have identified two relevant issues which are being worked upon and will be addressed in the upcoming releases –
Deletion of batch reports –
A user will have to delete all saved parameters before deleting a said batch report successfully. In the future, this flow will be enhanced to allow users to delete batch reports more directly.
Running a batch report by selecting a saved parameter –
In this release, we have identified that the batch report is not run unless users select the ‘output format’ in the ‘batch reports parameter’ screen after selecting one of the saved parameters. This will be streamlined in the upcoming release to ensure better user experience.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
note
‘Bulk deletion of imports’ which was slated for 2024.05 release and earlier published in the preview release notes has been retracted from the release due to some identified issues which prohibit user from leveraging the full functionality. This is being currently worked on and will be delivered in upcoming releases.
