Work with returns

Open a Return

  1. To open a return, select
    Returns
    Returns
    .
  2. Select the hyperlinked name of the report you want to open.
  3. A windows opens that lets you open and work on the sheets in the return. Use the left pane to select the sheet you want to open.
Selecting the icons on the toolbar ribbon open menus that provide additional options:

The
Save
icon options include saving specific versions of calculations, importing, exporting, or saving the sheet to a spreadsheet.
The
Refresh
icon options include the ability to update the return with changes made by other users' import data.
The
Print
icon options include the option to print the return and configure print settings.
The
E-file
icon include options for filing a return electronically and viewing e-filing errors.
The
View
icon options allow you to switch between data, review, and final views of the sheet. You can also show and hide hidden data.
The
Insert
icon options allow you to insert rows, columns, and sheets. You can also insert an Excel sheet.
The
Delete
icon options allow you to delete rows, columns, and sheets.
The
Undo
icon lets you undo your previous change.
The
Redo
icon cancels a previous undo.
The +/- icon lets you toggle between positive and negative values. Select a calculation, then select this option to switch between a negative and positive value.
The
Format
icon provides formatting options at various levels.
The
Notes
icon lets you add notes and attachments.
The
Tools
icon provides access to various tools and settings.
The
International
icon provides access to options for changing currency and language settings.
The
Override
icon shows the number of cells that contain imported values that were overridden with manually entered values.
The
Errors and Notes
indicator shows errors and notes. Select the small down arrow to open a menu that lets you toggle between errors and notes.
If there are multiple errors or notes, you can select the small forward and backward arrows to page through the errors and notes in the workbook.
