Hyperlinks created in exported Excel reports

When printing a report to Excel directly from the print preview in Practice CS, links are created as values in cells on exported Excel reports. The existence of a link in an Excel document makes sorting and other functions impossible in Excel.
If you double-click on a cell that contains a link, you may get this error: "Can't open the specified file."
This topic explains how to print reports from Practice CS to Excel without links.
In order to view the report and then export the data values shown on the report rather than create hyperlinks, do the following:
  1. Select
    File
    then
    Print Reports
    .
  2. Select the report and set the desired options.
  3. If you want to preview the report, select the
    Preview Selected
    . If you preview, select
    Back
to close the preview before printing. Don’t print directly from the preview.
  4. To print the report to Excel, select
    Print Selected
    .
  5. Select
    Output to file
    and then choose
    Microsoft Excel (*.xls)
    as the file type.
  6. Enter a destination for the file by entering a path or selecting
    Browse
    and then choosing a folder.
  7. Select
    OK
    .
