Match masked EINs

During verification, Schedule K-1 templates will display EIN fields as dropdown lists. You can edit or correct the EIN if OCR fails to capture it due to masked information on the document.
When the EIN is masked on the document (such as appearing as
xx-xxx1234
or
**-***1234
), the system will match the last 4 digits of the masked EIN with the proforma'd EIN. If the proforma'd EIN matches the last four digits of the masked EIN, the system will select the proforma'd EIN in the verification.
If the document's masked EIN doesn’t match with the available proforma, the system will replace the masked character with the number
9
. For example, if the document shows an EIN of
xx-xxx1234
and no proforma'd EIN matches, the verification wizard will display it as
99-9991234
.
