Diagnostics

Diagnostics helps you review possible input problems or inconsistencies on a tax return, all overrides used in a tax return, missing information, and e-file rejects.
To view Diagnostics, select
Diagnostics
on the
View
menu.
You can also select the
Diagnostics
icon  on the toolbar.

Diagnostics window

The
Diagnostics
window displays the diagnostics in the return. It displays information about the Page number, Form Name, Field Name, Diagnostics, OCR Value, Override Value, and Binder ID.
The
Diagnostics
window will appear with the following tabs:
  • Diagnostics
  • Override
  • Questionnaire data that is not mapped
  • Questionnaire data not populated in Excel TDO
  • Compensation Break Down Diagnostics
Diagnostics tab
The
Diagnostics
tab displays diagnostic for a particular amount in question, whether it has been overridden or hasn’t met the pre-defined rules.
The
Diagnostics
tab will show the following information:
  • Page
    : Shows the workpaper name, Index number, and the original page number.
  • Form Name
    : Shows the form type and name.
  • Field Name
    : Shows the particular field in question.
  • OCR Value
    : Shows the original OCR value.
  • Diagnostics
    : Shows the reason why this workpaper is listed in the diagnostic.
Select the
Verified
 checkbox to verify the diagnostic, and then select
Save
 to save the changes.
These diagnostics also appear in the DreamWorkpapers PDF file.
Override tab
The
Override
tab displays the override values entered during Verification Wizard. You can't change any amount in the
Diagnostics
window.
