Recover data

Data Recovery in SPbinder:
The auto-save feature in SPbinder runs automatically every time you make a modification to the binder (that is, add/delete/update).
While there is an auto-save feature, we highly recommend saving your work manually. To save your recent changes, select the
Save
icon  in the toolbar.
If the binder crashes due to an unexpected interruption (for example, a loss of internet connectivity) a cached copy of the binder is saved in the backup folder on your machine even if you haven’t saved manually.
When you re-open the binder, a window will ask you which copy of your binder you want to open.
Select
Yes
to recover unsaved binder information from the locally cached copy.
Select
No
to open the last saved binder from FileRoom.
If a more recent copy of the binder has been saved on the server from another machine, you will be prompted to choose between the 2 copies:
Select
Yes
to recover unsaved binder information from a locally cached copy.
Select
No
to open the last saved binder from FileRoom.
Select
Review
to open the binder in read-only mode. The read-only mode lets you review the updated binder information saved on the server without replacing local or server binder.
If the binder crashes and you try to open the same binder on another machine, the system will display the following message:
WARNING: The system indicates that some file(s) were in use by KADAM VIDYA on NEW-VIDYA and were not saved properly to the server. Please ask them to open this binder on the same computer, click on the Save option, and close the binder once saving is complete. This will ensure that all of their changes are saved. Would you like to continue opening this binder? Please note if you click on YES all of their changes to these files will be lost.
Select
Yes
to discard all the unsaved data.
Select
No
 to close.
Now open the binder from the same machine you last worked on and select
Ok
when prompted to restore the backup.
Data Recovery in Excel or Word:
If you open Excel or Word files from SPbinder in their native applications and you experience an interruption in connectivity, the save feature in the native application will take place. When you reload the Excel or Word file into SPbinder, the saved changes will be seen.
If you lose your connectivity in the binder and you haven’t performed a save within the native application (Word/Excel), when you re-open the binder and reload the Excel/Word document, the changes made in the native application won’t be saved and loaded into your binder.
In the case of an Inactivity Timeout, the SurePrep system will make a permanent save and you will recover all the changes made to the binder.
