Export Data Entry

, you can select a
Base Dataset
and a component in Data Entry Introduction, and then export that data to an Excel spreadsheet. Tax Provision provides two types of exports:
  • Export Worksheet Template - for updating and backing up data.
  • Export Data For Review - for reviewing data.

Export Worksheet Template

Export data from a data entry page to create a worksheet template for import and data backup purposes. For example, exporting the PTBI page creates the #PTBI# sheet which you can use to enter data and then import that data.
  • Only Administrators and Read-write users can import data entry line items.
  • The export file will contain all entries including hidden fields from the data entry page that is open.
  • The export consists of Federal and State worksheets (for those components that apply). For example, Perm Diffs Tax Basis will consist of #UPD# and #SPD# worksheets(if there are state entries).
To export data and create a template do the following:
  1. Select the
    Export
    icon in the Data Entry ribbon.
  2. Type the file name.
  3. Select
    EXPORT FILE
    .

Export Data For Review

In
Review & Edit
, you can select the
Export
icon in the upper right to export data for informational purposes. You can export data from the Base Dataset Summary page, Lead Sheet pages, and Data Entry pages.
To export data from the Data Entry component page:
  1. Select
    Export
    in the Data Entry ribbon and the Export Components dialog opens.
  2. Type a file name to specify the export file.
  3. Select
    Export File
    to submit the export request.
  4. Select
    Jobs
    in the navigation bar to review the export log information and the status of your export request.
To review the progress of the export, select Jobs in the Tax Provision menu.
