Affordable Care Act (ACA) shared policy data entry

Per 8962 instructions, you need to allocate policy amounts (enrollment premiums, SLCSP premiums, and/or APTC) on a Form 1095-A if:
  • The policy covered at least 1 individual in your tax family and at least 1 individual in another tax family, and
  • You received a Form 1095-A for the policy that doesn't accurately represent the members of your tax family who were enrolled in the policy (meaning that it either lists someone who isn't in your tax family, or doesn't list a member of your tax family who was enrolled in the policy) or the other tax family received a Form 1095-A for the policy that includes a member of your tax family.
To enter a shared policy for a taxpayer, use the 1095A screen and enter the percentage in the
Allocation percent
fields, or use the PTC Screen and enter data into the
Shared policy information
statement.
important
Don't enter the same policy in both screens.
