Overview

Use this screen to enter information for Form 4684, Page 4, to make or revoke an election to deduct a federally declared disaster loss in the preceding tax year.

General Information

UltraTax CS uses this description to complete the name or description field on Form 4684, Page 4, Section D, Part I or II. This field is mandatory.
Use this field to identify the client to whom the statement belongs. If you leave this field blank, UltraTax CS defaults to the taxpayer.

Election to Deduct Loss in Preceding Year

This field isn't available for data entry. It shows the unique disaster number that has been assigned to each separate unit of the
4684Elec
screen. This number doesn't transfer to the return.
If the disaster loss occurred on a single date, enter the date in the
Date of loss
field. If the disaster occurred on more than one date, use the
Additional dates of loss
field.

Revocation of Prior Election

Enter the date when the prior election was made. This field is mandatory to complete Form 4684, Page 4, Part II – Revocation of Prior Election.
Use this field to explain arrangements for the repayment of any credit or refund amount that was received and which resulted from the prior election.
