Family Transfer Utility (FTU) Client Information

This section contains information on data transferred between clients using the Family Transfer Utility. This information helps you manage the family unit by identifying all members of the family and their client IDs. The utility will also transfer applicable client IDs to the 8615, 8615Sib screens, and the
Dependent's modified AGI
field on the Coverage screen (Health Care folder).
This field contains the ID of the client that was selected as the parent within the Family Transfer Utility.
This field will be marked if the client you currently have open was selected as the parent within the Family Transfer Utility.
The statement attached to this field contains the dependent's client ID, first name, last name, type of transfer (dependent MAGI or Form 8615), and the current client indicator for clients selected as the child or dependent within the Family Transfer Utility.

Filing Status Optimization Information

This section reports detailed information from the Filing Status Optimization utility.
This field indicates whether a filing status optimization has been performed on the joint client return. An FYI diagnostic message will indicate the optimal filing status as well as the overall tax savings determined by the optimization.
These fields identify the two client IDs for the separate clients that were created during the filing status optimization process.
This field indicates whether or not the separate clients created by the filing status optimization utility are available to proforma to next year.

Merged Client Information

This section reports detailed information for a client created via a joint client merge.
These fields identify whether the merged client is a domestic partner return, married filing joint return, or same-sex married return.
These fields identify the two client IDs for the separate clients that were created during the joint client merge process.
If critical errors and/or warnings were generated during the merge process, the Merge Client Data Results dialog opens and details those errors and/or warnings. This field marks when there are unresolved errors generated during the joint client merge process. To correct unresolved errors for the joint client, you may need to make changes in the individual clients. Once all unresolved errors are addressed, recombine the clients using the joint client merge process. After doing so, this field will be blank.
