Screen 1042S - Withholding US Income

Use this screen to record information from the client's Form 1042-S – Foreign Person’s U.S. Source Income Subject to Withholding. When you enter withholding on this screen, it reports on Form 1040NR, line 62d. The tax application uses this information to produce Form 1042-S ELF, which is attached to the electronic file submitted to the IRS.
By default, income on the 1042S screen reports on Form 1040NR, page 4, as not effectively connected income. To report the income from the taxpayer’s Form 1042-S as effectively connected income, mark this field and report the income on the appropriate input screen. If the income from the taxpayer’s Form 1042-S isn't effectively connected but has been reported on another input screen, mark this field. If this field is marked, only the withholding on the 1042S screen reports on Form 1040NR.
