Screen 8288A - Withholding on Disposition of US Property
Use this screen to record information from the client's Form 8288-A – Statement of Withholding on Dispositions by Foreign Persons of U.S. Real Property Interests. When you enter withholding on this screen, it reports on Form 1040NR, line 62c. The tax application uses this information to produce Form 1042-S ELF, which is attached to the electronic file submitted to the IRS.
Only federal income tax withheld from Form 8828-A reports on Form 1040NR, page 2, line 62c. Report the income from Form 8828-A, Statement of Withholding on Dispositions by Foreign Persons of U.S. Real Property Interests, on the appropriate input screen.
