Use this screen to enter information necessary to complete the application to request a DS (Electronic Refund Disbursement Service) or ADV (Refund Advance). UltraTax CS has partnered with Refund Advantage and EPS Financial so you can offer this bank product. The information in this screen is used to complete the bank product application.
You can not use the RAL screen until the application is configured to use Refund Advantage or EPS Financial. To configure the application, choose Setup and then 1040 Individual, select the Bank Products button, and mark the
Use Electronic Refund Disbursement Service
box. Select the Validate button to retrieve enrollment information from Refund Advantage or EPS Financial, such as routing transit number (RTN) and approved services.
We are only responsible for transmitting applications to Refund Advantage and EPS Financial. We are not in a position to answer Refund Advantage or EPS Financial application questions, give bank product information, or provide support for Refund Advantage or EPS Financial software. Information in this screen is used only when transmitting returns through the Electronic Filing utility. It will not be used in the electronic file of any third party vendor.
The 1040 screen or Contact screen must have a valid residential phone number, with an area code consistent with the residence zip code.
Electronic Refund Account Application
Use this section to enter general application information, designate the type of bank product, and select the disbursement method.
Type of Electronic Refund Disbursement Service (ERDS)
Select
DS
(Disbursement Service) to deduct tax preparation and electronic filing fees from the client’s refund prior to disbursement. If you are enrolled to provide refund advance products, you can select

(25% refund advance),

(50-75% refund advance),

Because codes L1 and L2 are loan only bank products, Page 6 of the Refund Advantage form will not fill out.
This field is mandatory for the completion of a bank product application. After the IRS accepts the return, the client's tax refund is disbursed by Refund Advantage or EPS Financial, less fees.

Incomplete application information may delay processing of the application by Refund Advantage or EPS Financial.

Enter the method by which the taxpayer(s) will receive their refund.

UltraTax CS automatically places the Refund Advantage bank account information in Form 1040, lines 21b, 21c, and 21d and in the electronic return. Bank account information entered in the Bank screen is ignored for purposes of the electronic tax return, except for a direct deposit disbursement.
If you designate direct deposit as the disbursement method, UltraTax CS automatically places the Refund Advantage or EPS Financial account information in Form 1040, lines 21b, 21c, and 21d and in the electronic return. However, you must enter the client's bank account information in the Bank screen. This information is included in the Application for Electronic Refund Account transmitted to Refund Advantage or EPS Financial.

Prepaid debit card envelope number
Enter the 13-digit envelope number from the issued prepaid debit card when using the prepaid debit card disbursement method. If the prepaid debit card will be issued to the taxpayer by mail, leave this field blank.
Tax preparation fee
Enter the amounts being charged in conjunction with the preparation of an electronic return and bank product application. Refund Advantage or EPS Financial subtracts the amount from the client's refund amount. An amount must be entered in this field; zero (
0.00
) is an acceptable entry.
Additional fees set up during ERO enrollment with Refund Advantage or EPS Financial must be entered in the Bank Products dialog. To open this dialog, choose Setup and then 1040 Individual and select the Bank Products button.
Fees set up during Refund Advantage's ERO enrollment cannot be changed during the tax processing year. Refund Advantage will reject bank products where the fee amounts entered in Setup, 1040 Individual, and then Bank Products are inconsistent with Refund Advantage records.

Identification information
Enter the ID number, issue date, expiration date, and location of issuance for the taxpayer, and spouse, if applicable. An entry in this field is required for the completion of the application.

If the issue date is unknown, an estimated date of issue must be entered. If there is no issue date, enter a date of 01/01/1990.
If there is no expiration date or the ID was issued for the holder's lifetime, enter a date of 12/31/2049.
Second form of identification
Select the second form of identification presented that verifies the identities of the taxpayer and spouse, if applicable.
Telephone number for text message to taxpayer
If the taxpayer opts to receive text messages for Refund Advantage or EPS Financial products, enter the phone number in this field. Refund Advantage or EPS Financial sends a text message when the refund is available.
